Honestly if you just do blunder checks along with following the common advice (that being control the center, develop your pieces, castle, etc.) then you should break 1000 without too much extra work provided you're already doing puzzles. Blunder checks are just taking 4 seconds before you play a move to double check you arent just straight up losing a piece, and when your opponent makes a move to double check they arent just losing one for free. most games below like 1100 even are decided like that.

Hello I am a new-ish chess player who just started about a year and a half ago. I’ve climbed up to 900, where I have been stuck for a minute (I’ve been hovering around this 850-915 area for months). I will feel great and confident going into games and start making my way up to 1000 then immediately go on a lose streak. It’s frustrating as all hell and I think it’s time I allow my self to be held accountable and actually receive some criticism. I do puzzles on both chess.com and occasionally lichess. I also have a puzzle streak on Duolingo and play people on there but I think it’s not as competitive generally speaking. Anyway I’m kind of at a loss and I really do need things spelled out for me. Any ideas/suggestions/critiques are welcome
