What did I do wrong here?

I did sacrifice a pawn in the beginning but he played very good chess and beat me.

What recommendations would you make to help improve my game?  Thank you so much guys.  I am 1800 in everything, except rapid 15 minutes where I play every move lightning fast.... at the end I still had like 14:30 left haha.  My opponent came up with some good tricks.  On move 33, I made a mistake I feel.  I should have moved my king to g7.  This was a HUGE mistake which cost me the game.  Any recommendations?  Be nice but also harsh. Thanks and have a wonderful day!  Cheers!

Thank you for your feedback...I read it just fine.   Really, I feel my big mistake was in move 33 with Bxg5...that was my ONE and only blunder, which cost me the game.

Sergeant-Andrews-Cat

your mistake was to play someone too good for you.

Wow....amazing insight asshole.  I played lightning fast...that is why rapid 15:10 is my weakness.

Also, your rating of 1577 (which is very good) is not even Class B.  So please stop being rude.

I have beaten masters before.

Sergeant-Andrews-Cat

watch your dirty language 2Q, staff don't want an engine user here.

LeonSKennedy992

I agree Sergeant....g5 on move 31 does indeed win for black.....though it wouldn't exactly be the easiest win as white does have A LOT of counterplay after Qxf7+ (after Bxg5).......a LOT of counterplay.  I was a bit worried about it.

Thanks for the feedback, sir.

Move 18 bxd4 is interesting.

It is quite interesting yes, agreed.

Strangemover

Having read some of your other posts advocating sacrificing a pawn with black in the Scandinavian (which im not against) it seems to me you got into some bother in this game because you were inflexible in your approach. You didn't want to accept whites gambit with dxe4 even though this is the objectively best move.

If you already knew what your mistake was why are you asking people what you did wrong

I was mainly asking for what I can improve strategy wise.  I know I made a massive blunder on move 33.  Please stop being so negative towards me, sir.  I can tell you are a good man and good chess player.
