Why are some people so.... Rude

So in a few games people are being extremely rude and force me into resining, because I’m not-so good yet (I’m a newbie) but that doesn’t mean they should treat me so badly. What do I do?

Disable the chat and ignore them.

Looking at a few of your games, you could really benefit from taking some of the beginner lessons.  Your choice of opening as white-. d3 in 3 games; f3 in another- is hurting you. Your 1..Nc6 response to d4 is also questionable.

Just ignore them. They cannot make you resign. You should only resign when you feel it is right to resign.

I just looked at one of your games by the way. I have given some advice about the first few moves - see below - to help you improve.

In the opening:

1. Move pawns first. As white play e4 or d4.

2. Move knights before bishops. Move towards the centre.

3. Try to move each piece once only. Don't move the same piece lots of times.

4. Don't bring the queen out too early.

5. Before every move, check whether any of your pieces are being attack and whether there are any opportunities to grab opponent pieces that are not defended.

Good luck!!

After 1.d3 with black to move if anyone's better it's white.

Yes. I see you find it very helpful against all the opponents you play who are rated at least 500 points below you.

It was good enough to beat Nakamura,  my first win against a titled player btw.

In truth, 1. d3 is not a terrible move. But I don't think it is helpful for a beginner to play such as move and I think this is what notmtwain is getting at.

I have had a lot of trouble with this. I come here to play chess. If I wanted to hear garbage confrontational banter I'd go to a sports bar. It isn't my idea of chess. I don't mute the chat because some people actually have significant input regarding the game. I feel you on this one.

Just ignore them and kick their a**.

Don't forget White's third consecutive blunder at 6: d4?? where White just allowed Black another damage with a simple fork of 6: ....exd4!

People are brave behind the anonymity of the computer screen. They wouldn't have the courage to act that way in public. Like many said - use the ignore option. Their talk is not worth your time.

I’m sorry they’re so rude. Please don’t judge the community because as you can see from this thread a lot of people who play chess are nice too 🙂. I recommend either reporting the poor sports or blocking them if they are verbally mean because honestly nobody wants to play a poor sport. That being said I see you only play ten minute games. Those are fun and everything but as a new player myself I recommend 30 minute games to start because they let you think more. (I’m new but I feel like it’s helping me) I also think beginner lessons are very important to learn. I hope you find nicer opponents 🙂❤️

listen if they r bad thats their problem and they should deal with it. D3 sux and u blunder u should get better on lichess where people chat less than come and win so people cant rash talk u. also the dont force u to resign thats just stupid and weird

As a lot of people said, just ignore them and work on your game. There is no way they can force u into a resignation. Make sure you find the purpose of each move and best way to respond! Good luck!

I would suggest perhaps playing games with a daily time limit.  That way, you would have time to think and look at both positions without having to rush.

The comment from sean893 is excellent and will lead you in the right direction.  Good luck.
