Why is 19...c1+ a 'Brilliant' move?

I don't feel Brilliant. Quite the contrary, I feel like it was a Blunder and only by happy accident did I take the field. I also feel like I might be missing something,

19...Rc1+ is the only move that leads to checkmate. It's also a rook sacrifice, and I think that's why Chess.com classifies it as brillant.

Is there any particular reason that you didn't check the engine analysis? Bizarre.

Rc1+ is the best move that leads to forced mate, so I don't know how is that a blunder in your book.

Yes

rc1 deflects the bishop so it cannot protect the rook anymore leading to checkmate

May I ask- why didn't you use move 11 to go Nc2 to attack the white rook?

Thanks everyone. There are so many variables and fluxuations in power and balance, it is really difficult for me to see the "whole board" ... most of the questions that ask me "why didn't you...?" can be answered with "because I'm not that good yet... but I will be.". happy.png
