Why is this a mistake?

As the title states, why is this a mistake? It's essentially a fork or at worst an exchange of even material.

You missed the bishop. I know you would have won it anyways, but the computer prefers you don’t move your rook to a ridiculous position and that maybe you would have trapped the knight

So basically it's saying trading the rook for the bishop and the knight is a better more definitive outcome?

Ohhhh, no I get it. Yes, the computer is saying that the rook for 2 pieces is good because after Rc8 Nxe6! Makiing an isolated pawn and threatening the rook. After fxe6 Bxg7 Kxg7 Re1 then black is losing the e6 pawn.

Great analysis! I see it now. Thanks! Thankfully they didn't follow that path and I ended up winning the bishop and the game.

You’re welcome. Took me a bit. Always look for forcing moves of you and your opponent’s even when those moves look like a blunder
