17. Qxb2# Miniature, Annotated

This is a game I recently played on Live in which my opponent was severely punished after bringing out his queen when he shouldn't have, twice! I feel that I capitalized very well on a number of his follies.

Also, note that he has 500 points on me, though this was only a 10m 0+ game, so its not as legit' as a 'long' game. I'm usually very poor in Blitz.

Yeah, haha. I was afraid someone would go into my archives and check it out. And, again, yes, it was a mouse slip. :(  I still pulled it off but man, that's so annoying isn't it?

As suspicious as that kind of thing is, I think here it's pretty safe to say nobody would ever actually play Qa2 :). I hate it when that happens.

And you should have lost after that mouseslip--you lose like 10 points of material in a few moves. Actually, Rybka 2.2 managed to find a mate in sixteen for white. Mouseslips do indeed suck.

Nice game, overall. I know next to nothing about the opening, but it was fun watching you massacre white's position while his queen was running around like an idiot. 7. Ng3?? was the turning point. I guess the fork was subtle, but even if he misses that, WHY would he not defend his pawn? The world may never know.
