1-0 for Miha! No worries, Kasparov lost his first game vs. Deep Blue in 1996 and won the match, Deep Blue lost his first game vs. Kasp in 1997 and won the match, Capablanca lost his first game against AAA in 1927 and... damn, I think I haven't got over it yet.
#BCM2 - Pulpofeira vs. MSC157

Hopefully that player got banned because it's unacceptable.
I'll post our 1st game in the next few minutes, stay tuned! Looks like I'll be late for class again. :)

Right - losing a first game isn't the end of the world, Pulpo.. :-)
And did the player get banned? Not yet... sometimes it takes a bit of time for chess.com to go over these cheating reports...

[Spoiler alert!] Computer analysis here. Looks like I was not dead lost with still some tricks left. And vice versa. Thanks Martin for the analysis!

ok, I guess you had the opportunity to play 18.d5, but after 18.Rd1 you were just a pawn down and after 19.Nd5 you were dead lost if 19...Bb6 was played. I won't just call you lucky though since you played for tricks and managed to make a trick work.
Also it seems 18...Rxd4 was more accurate than 18...Bxd4, but I don't think that is a big deal since blacks position was good with a pawn up anyway.

I'll take a match with you Martin.
A new short match has started with me and Taulmaril: https://www.chess.com/forum/view/fun-with-chess/martin0-vs-taulmaril-minimatch

You guys sure like to trade pieces. Every time one player offers an exchange, the other player exchanges. Anyway, I would probably have played on a bit in the endgame if I were black. I think it's a draw, but I think it is possible to go wrong

Yes, my guess was he would advance pawns in the queenside. It's true I'm prone to trade, but I also find it somehow practical at times in this time control (not complaining, I find it perfect for this match, I think Miha would crush me even more easily in blitz and longer games).

On second thought the sideline in my diagram with 39...cxb5 40.axb5 Kd5 41.c6 bxc6 42.b6 does not work for white. Somehow I missed that after 42...Kd6 black is in time to capture the b-pawn (silly me).
This analysis is probably more correct. I would not be surprised if white would respond 36...a6 with the blunder 37.a4 for example. I could see myself sometimes making that blunder.
Who knows? One thing you can do there if the controls are slow is moving pieces here and there on a chess board, wich would be bad enough.
