The Young and Restless

I love these kind of players. They are restless, always on the move.. they never play around.. every move is on point.. not here and there.. always in your face grin.png

And beating them gives more satisfaction. A worthy opponent grin.png always deserves to die with honor grin.png

Anyways.. here is the game.

When I would play those young Indian kids at OTB tournaments, I used to suffer from the fact they would move too fast and I would rush to keep up with them. Now I take my time, but I'm a better player now so I still move quickly and accurately better sometimes.

Ah yes.. OTB tournaments. I wonder when we will go back to our normal lives. Will we ever? never? Clubs.. tournaments.. I miss them soo much 😗😅😢

That was a nice watch, although I expected something a bit more wild. Your opponent was a bit tame at times. On the other hand he made a bunch of very direct moves, like 28..Bf5.
By the way, after that move, you say there's no move to defend the knight but actually Re1 (either rook) holds it together quite nicely. That was probably preferable over losing a tempo since you'll have to move your knight again.

Yeah 28. ... Bf5 was the turning point of the game. Rook and bishop were attacking the knight and only queen was defending. My rook could join the defence but with a simple Qg6 there would be 3 attackers and there was no other piece to defend.. other than my kingside pawns.

And position would be cramped.

On the other hand trade was bad for me because my queen was supporting my queenside pawns. without her support queenside got a direct hit in next a few moves.. timing was bad..

He either planned it or played it intuitively but it was a right and sharp decision for him.

My knight sac was a master candidate kinda move in my opinion happy.png it wasn't perfect but turned the game in my favor. A greater threat forced him to make decisions.. therefore possible mistakes.

I don't understand your description of your opponent. You played more aggressively than him. He played a super passive and weak opening and was clearly scared to play the sharp Ng5 lines, where he would have an opportunity to actually play as you described him as doing. You then stole a pawn, giving him strong active pieces. He didn't do that. You did. You then sacced a piece for a passed pawn. These things were all you. Was 17...c5 aggressive? Possibly, but that's the only move I see that he played that might be. He never attacked your King all game and traded Queens as soon as he could. He blundered away the game on move 44 missing a simple tactic. Game over. Where is the game you described?
