That was quick. Did you guys rematch? If so, what happened? His rating is substantially lower than yours as you no doubt noticed. Are you criticizing the pawn pushing style, because from your comments it sounds like you have lost to that style quite a bit. I am experimenting with different openings, so I am just curious.
Winning against a pawn pusher!
He actually plays me often, rematching after every game. Yeah, I have had trouble against pawn-pushers in the past. If done correctly, it gains a lot of space and can be difficult for inexperienced players to beat. It is especially frustrating since I know it goes against opening principals and there has to be a way to beat it, but it usually involves tactical sacrifices, which is a tough concept for new players.
The first game where I outplayed a pawn pusher purely through tactical play. This game makes me realize that if you are at a beginner level, you will have a tough time because usually you have to spot a tactical move to create an imbalance.
Disclaimer: Note that I am not a computer, nor did I use one for my after-game comments, so it is highly possible I overlooked something advantageous to either myself or my opponent, or even thought an unsound move was superior.
