You asked.

yes...
Sebastien , this is the first time you show that you care about what others think of you , what impression you give of yourself. You are not a bad boy and I (we) don't hate you , we were holding a mirror in front of you so you could see yourself from our viewpoint. It looks like you learned something afterall. Keep it up and all may turn out right.
Granddad.
omg, yes I know that. I keep telling myself that, but you still said it. And that still dosent take anything away from it though. But thanks.

To be honest, a 1950 rating is not really that impressive on this site nevermind a 1500. You post from a position of knowledge and a 12 year old player rated 1500 comes off as pretentious as well as inflating your own ego. Had you a title or were rated close to 2000 in real life it might be different. Kinda comes off like a person who took French 101 and now wants to teach a French class. Maybe it would come off better if you put in your posts that this was geared for players much lower rated and younger than you are. I have no personal beef with you and I'm sure you are a fine kid, I'm just answering your question.
But I like what you have done. But its a painful way of doing it though :)
It didn't have to be painfull for you if you showed more respect in the first place. If little corrections don't help , hard measures need to be taken. You evidently had to learn the hard way.
alright then very well. But could you give me an example ?
Hey SebLeb, are you really an adult who pretends here he is a kid? I heard some rumors here and there, even in this thread. If yes, that would be very creepy (and kinda sad).
Yes I agree. But the way of showing sombody what not to do. Is not by dooing the same thing. No judgement on that by the way
Have you considered that there may be more than 1 Sebastian Lebel in Canada?
This is a case of a young man who is excited about what he's learning and wants to share it with the community. So he posted a puzzle with a flaw- big deal. Now everyone has to get on their high horses and relentlessly attack him? Everyone is talking about arrogance and pretension- maybe he just loves the game and wants to help. Jeremy Silman said one of the finest teachers he knows is rated 1500. Even worse that these attacks are done under the guise of "teaching" him or trying to help him somehow- a pretty thin excuse if you ask me.
I purposely didn't look up anyone's rating here, but I bet at least some of the bullies have low ratings too... Pretty lame that you all have to resort to picking on a 12 year old. As for respect- that goes both ways. Lots of you seem to expect SebLeb to worship you and "stay quiet while the grownups are talking", then you treat him without an ounce of respect. I hoped for better... but I can't truly say I expected better after reading the first few pages of comments. Disappointing.
I have to say that i am impressed by the kind nature and easy going style of this young player. He sucks at chess, but is a great communicator and gentleman, which is far more important.
Yes, I agree. Despite the vitriolic and hateful comments (many from supposed adults no less), Seb has continued to be polite throughout and has not taken the bait to stoop to the level of his critics. Sebastian, I commend you on your maturity. Please do not be discouraged by the haters and naysayers.

I absolutely agree. One can post critiques of his analysis and point out flaws in his reasoning on the chess problems he has posted without resorting to name calling and other inappropriate behavior. It is very disappointing that so many people on this website seem to enjoy bullying a young child. Fortunately, Seb seems resilient and resistant to the attacks and barbs hurled his way.
I also find the posts about Monica Lewinsky (which are clearly OT) to be crude and inappropriate, particularly when addressed to a young child.
Pretension :
: the unpleasant quality of people who think of themselves as more impressive, successful, or important than they really are
: a desire to do something or a claim to be something that is impressive or important
