Good job Epiloque

Welp, as we know it depends on the specifics but on average I'd prefer 2 rooks. They can gang up on a target where the queen can only attack it once. But when there aren't many open files the queen would be better able to navigate. So the later the game goes (ending) the rooks may do better but in the middle game or even earlier the queen might have the advantage. ON AVERAGE.

I agree

It also depends on the player. In my case if I have two rooks....then one queen wins....If I have one queen then two rooks win

Queen? Two Rooks? It's to a large degree personal preference, but I know for a fact 95% of the time you can't get in trouble with the rooks IF you keep them connected...of course somebody will come up the exceptions.

yea, queen is 9 points and 2 rooks are 10 points but 1 point difference is not much so it's tied indeed...

The Queen is the mos powerful chess piece, but is it powerful enough to battle 2 rooks alone? well in this forum we will discuss in various positions which team would be better. Different pawn structures, more pieces, etc. and at the end we will find out if the queen is indeed the most powerful team or if the 2 rooks are so LET'S START!!

Depends on the position.

Depends on the position.

defenedly. But not in ALL SITUATIONS it depends and the position, sometimes it depends on if there are more pieces or not. For example in a middle game, the queen would be better but in the endgame, I go with the rooks (in my opinion) but in most cases it still depends on the position wink.png

Where do you get these positions from they are interesting to learn.

DanTheMan778

I'm sure you all know this, but two rooks are worth 10 points while queens are worth 9. Also, rooks can checkmate right next to the king via protection, while the queen only has its king to rely on. Both my gut and whoever made the piece points agree that two rooks are better happy.png.

Queen 100% of the time in blitz, in longer formats the two rooks if they are connected.

Not necessarily. I recently played a blitz game in which it was a more open board with only 1min left, and my opponent was really struggling with his queen, and I won. Maybe if the game is more closed and its blitz this is a bit more accurate.

TheCrazySacrificer

Depends, endgame 2 rooks, beginning game queen.
