2026 Norway Chess takes place May 25 - June 5 in Oslo, featuring a 3.4M kr (approx. $355K) combined prize fund equally split among both sections.

Norway Chess moves from Stavanger to central Oslo for its 14th edition, with both the Open and Women's sections taking place at Deichman Bjorvika. Each section features six players in a double round-robin, with Armageddon deciders after classical games if tied.

The Open field is led by GM Magnus Carlsen and reigning World Champion GM Gukesh Dommaraju , while Norway Chess Women returns with an equal prize fund and a lineup including Women's World Champion GM Ju Wenjun and 2025 winner GM Anna Muzychuk .
