My question is very simple: is it possible to achieve 3000 FIDE rating?

When is going to happen?

Who of current top players is likely to do that?

I am really curious of your opinion :)

Here we can only afford to snort powdered sugar off a chess board

@BetterOffSingle:"I stopped playing chess when I was getting all the women I wanted and didn't need the crazy-genius Fischer-wannabe persona they all fell for."

I don't get you. Why would you play chess just to impress females? It's kinda sad.. And how come you play fourteen hours a day 1 min chess but you don't have a single 1 min match played on chess.com?

What a crap of a comment...

In my opinion it will have happened by the year 2100 but not much earlier.

Oh my God are you that loser misogynist "pick up artist" idiot? It would explain the amount of demented crap you are writing here. You don't even play chess on this site. Are you here solely to try and sell your latest nonsense books?

You have no proof. I have.

That was my idea too. We need to wait for rating inflation.

Yeah, thanks for rescuing me from my minor inaccuracy. You're so brilliant. If I were a woman I would definitely fall at your feet. Prick.

@ BetterOffSingle

Still you haven't answered my prior question. I get the feeling that your life is ruled by how to impress and get ladies in your bedroom. It's just sad. And I'm sorry if I or others are not as good as you in english grammar and stuff. But language is meant to make your thoughts and feelings clear to one and another. It seems we differ in taste when it comes to ladies.

"Try and" is incorrect syntax.  It's "try TO."  Next we'll explain when to use "what" versus "which."  Many women love to READ, and rule out men who make fourth-grade language errors.  Of course, since women don't explain this to the losers they ignore, the slugs remain ignorant; even their lack of proper knowledge of whether or not (not "whether") to use a semicolon instead of a period can cost them getting laid as if the period were her own.

Thank you for your feedback.  If you'd like to address my idea rather than me, it would be more relevant to the audience.

@whoispaulmiller, that was not an inaccuracy. Your usage of "try and [do something]" refers to an idiom. An idiom need not be explained by logical grammatical usage. It has been observed that the objection to this usage has primarily come from the Americans; the British have been tolerant to the usage of "try and".

The only thing you were wrong about @whoispaulmiller is the cause which you gave that would explain the "amount of demented crap" that he was writing. He is frustrated with his life and tries to compensate by looking down on other people and arguing semantically instead of presenting his views contextually. Why, he I have seen many idiots like him so I have a sort of intuition that can detect these ******es from the general public.

What was your reaction to the ts?

It looks like the pot is calling the kettle black.

I was just kidding Joppert. If you cannot understand light humor, well, what is to be done? Laughing

Computers will be 6,000 Elo soon, and will teach us a great deal more about chess Wink

I love light humor. Your comment was not that unfortunately. Instead of diverting with excuses you should just apologize.

Avatar of thechessplaya5

Well Joppert, the OP asked who are the top players who are contenders of achieving the 3000 ELO mark, he himself being a professional player. So my comment "Not you, definitely." is just.... Well, you can't explain a joke, surely. So SORRY for being unempathetic towards people who do not have a good sense of humour.
