You shouldn't feel embarrassed. If that's your goal, work towards it. But congrats on nearing the quadruple digits. My journey from 700 to 1000 included playing a very solid, easy-to-play opening. I played the accelerated London, not the aggressive one but the basic London that you spam every game. Because I had such an easy opening to play, it saved time. I was able to save energy in the middle game, looking for tactics and more.

I feel super embarrassed and ecstatic at the same time that I am 100 ELO away from 1000, can this be true? How did other people find their 900-1000 journeys as they journeyed from beginner to advanced beginner? Is there any tips or such that could help me, possibly? Please let me know in the comments!
