A BIG SORRY

You should never have to apologize for this. Each player makes an implicit agreement to the time controls before the game starts, and it's your absolute right to use whatever portion of this you choose.
I know that, in the "real world," some players can be offended by this. But remember that this only accentuates their pusillanimity (in the etymological sense of "little souled"). You do not need to defend your behavior, but it does you credit that you have made this choice.
Best of luck with your chess (and your baby!)

sorry about your job loss and congrats on the kid!
and dont worry about grumpy players. if a game is 1 move every 3 days then feel free to take all that time. thats what turn based chess is.
congrats again!

Well said, Queenie! I second all of that!

For all the players im playing against be it in a tournament or just a friendly game, i would like to take this oppourtunity to apologise for my games running on longer than i would like.
This is down to two situations firstly i recently lost my job and therefore do not get as much computer time as i once did and also because my fiance (Emma) has just given birth to our baby daughter Hannah Leigh.
Now im not looking for ooohs and aaaahs of sympathy etc.. just to clarify the situation. I am trying my best to use the computer in the local library and will finish my games as soon as is humanly possible. I just dont like being called a cheat or a timewaster as has happened in two of my games.
Thanks for your time.
