A Journey Blindfold

I notice how when I tried to play blindfold chess it always seem to me that the bishop is the hardest to visualize its movement, anyone have a way to cope with it?

To cope with this I tried to memorize the white and black shades in a chess board. But it just becomes blury mix that is too slow, but accurate.

The famous bishop's tour. Can you do it? Wink

Avatar of briandesdet

Yeah i can do it if you give me few days off to memorize all the moves. And I think you mean knight tour since bishop(1) can't cross other squares and I just can't remember that person that is famous for the knight tour he wrote a book. I can find it by searching amazon.

I wonder how it will be like to do a bishops tour I bet it is going to be so easy. Black bishop a1 white bishop h1-mentally: black a1, b2, c3, d4, e5, f6, g7, h8- and I think you know how to do rest.

Knight's Tour: Start at any corner and continuously rotate in the same direction around the board moving on the outermost squares.

My best record on the knight's tour is 65 moves. Touched the same  places.

64 touched 1 place that is the same.

When you play through games by masters at 1/s the trouble then is with the pawns. Pawn chains and the pieces behind them.

This is a good site http://www.blindfoldchess.net/

Do anyone got any ideas on visualizing the pawns? SOS

I recited it by memory, it took me around 30 mins. to play it though and play it, I think it took around 20 mins to play through and 10 to memorize.
