A pinned piece is like a dead tree

So i was playing the nimzo larsen attack and i managed to create a pin ( courtesy of a good knight sacrifice ) on f7.Again any positive criticism will be much appreciated otherwise just find some other post to troll.

So overall it was a pretty pathetic game to be honest but i think i got the ideal setup in the nimzo larsen attack , guess just goes to show if you dont show aggression you will be taken up the sword and ofcourse the pin power.

after a while you had your way with Black and totally dominated.    great attack !

seems like Black's last chance to try and get a foothold to contest anything would have been with 12.....Bxg3 -- threatening to bring his Queen to bear with effect.   But I have my doubts if Black could offer much resistance.

an attack to be proud of !!

I can't see how White could like this opening. Even after 7 Nc3 White has a space disadvantage and a backward pawn while black has a mobile pawn.

i agree with you that blacks position was  slightly better with the mobile pawn and the possibility of pining the knight on f3 with Bg4 but the order of moves which my opponent played was i think not correct nstead of just pushing the pawn he could have tried Bg4 but " could have " is such a big word dont you think?

i have played this opening a few times just as an element of surprise but the important thing is loss of tempi not space advantage up to move 7 in this opening i think and i generally prefer a kingside fianchetto to queenside fianchetto as it is more dynamic. Can you suggest any pawn moves i should consider for controlling the centre as i feel confused with this opening which centre squares to target?

I didn't realize that you were numbering your moves starting with zero. That's not the way we usually do it. But in that case, you are overlooking a forced win by Black after 12...Bxg3.

I think it is more important not to get mated than to worry about space versus development

I agree lasker , after all you were the inventor of this opening Smile
