I am finding increasingly that many opponents abandon games when in a poor position instead of resigning. It seems that when they abandon the game it is not after the clock has run down at all. It just shows as game abandoned instead of resigned. Whilst I understand that this due to poor sportsmanship and loser rage I don't understand how they manage to abandon instead of resign. I do find it rude and unsportsmanly but how do they do it and is it monitored?
