I got an increase in my rating from 1300-1500 standard chess in just a couple of 3-4 days and I don't call myself prodigy so no
I remember being disappointed when I got to around 13 and realised I was too old to be a prodigy at anything. I'm 56 now, and I'm still not really over it.
If you are really 23, I think the ship 'Prodigy' has sailed. Still, you're doing ok, so just enjoy the game.
Yeah grown ups can't be prodigies since prodigies are ludicrously smart children. Carlsen was once a prodigy now he's just a genius.

lol thanks for the replies everyone i've had some good laughs and have even been inspired! I know that I'm not even close to being a prodigy but i am proud of my progress!(Although im finding out that 1300+ is a totally new ball game). I would also like to say how great this chess community is, anywhere else if i were to joke like this I would get flamed to no end but the way you guys handled it/understood it was a joke really surprised me. I started playing about 3 months ago and i was fluctuating between 1000-1100 for a while until recently now its like i can't lose and im currently at 1248 in standard.. why did i get so good? I didnt even study or anything lol
sorry to disappoint you but u lost more than 3 games in a row and I never lost 3 games in a row with a human most of the times I lose because of misclicks and I can beat adults.i am a 12 yr old kid.
I'm 11 I have been playing for three months my rating is 1600 but this is a new acount so I don't have many games but I can still win. Am I a prodigy
Prodigies have to be single digit age with a title.

I didn't get the joke, but I was suspecting when I found out you were actually 19 years old. I was gonna tell you, sorry, kid, we are just beginners and I could probably beat you, even though I haven't started playing rapid yet. Many will argue over which one would win between us. You are doing great, though, if you haven't studied. Keep it up, start working on the lessons, they are excellent. Good luck to you. I think we've been had. You did a much better job than I did when I asked if a 65 year old could become a GM. I only had a few serious answers. You Trolled the Trolls.
