Android vs ios

Guys I am planning to buy a new tablet with android opearting system. I have been using ipad for years and there exist some good ios apps for chess like Stockfish and HIARCS that I used with efficiency.

So here is my question. Are there also good and strong chess apps at android platform ? I notice HIARCS and Stockfish are not available at Google Playstore. So do we have other decent options for android OS ? I hope so becasue I am fed up with Apple and need a change.

All and any comments are more than welcome.

Stockfish is available, it's just called Droidfish.

How about Chessbase at android ? Do you have to be online for using the app ? Or does it work offline too ? (does its engine work offline ? )

The chessbase app works fine offline, but you need to be online to connect to their database. You can store your own databases locally.
