Are Bot's ratings accurate?

No, it’s not accurate at all. If bot ratings were correct I would be rated 1200 when I’m actually rated 600. Because bots with ratings of around 1000-1200 still hang a lot of pieces and blunder a lot, when an actual 1000-rated player would rarely do that.

totally not cuz im only 400 rated and i can beat a 600 rated bot

My chess coach tells me that most of the bots are 100-150 points lower than shown. The Elo system with Chess.com is a little different from professional chess systems so it can make you look much better than you are.

I agree that bot's ratings are not accurate as I am a 1100 rated-player and I beated duo and wally.

nah it's not that accurate .. im 570 in blitz and i can beat isabele (1600) with 3 stars ..

I have the same question cuz my rating isn't that much I was able to win a 1200 ranking bot twice without any hints

They are not accurate at all. It's very hard to code a human-like chess engine to play at a certain level.

I agree with you there is one bot that should not be it's rating MARTIN!!!!!

Bots are definitely worse than the elo says they are, but I don't know how by much.

so I played Wei this morning bot rated 2450, its actually my first win against her, also the first time I wasn't trying to play her in blitz, but I won in 82 moves and it said my estimated performance rating in the game was 3050 versus the Bot estimated rating 2800. Now I really would like to say its because I actually played the game that well, and reviewing it seems like I played reasonably well, but 3050 really how does that translate to my real ELO. It has been 9 years since I played in a real tournament will be heading to one in May and am looking forward to it, but I really do wonder if the game review is giving a fair review or is it unrealistic?

Bot ratings are definitely incorrect. If they were correct, I would be a grandmaster because I beat Luk.AI bot rated 2500, and I beat it in about 65 moves. In the game review, It estimated my elo was 2200 and the bot was 1800.

The Justin Reid bot seems too strong for 1300. I have spent hours trying to beat him and he always beats me soundly. I have beaten all the bots up to 1500 except him., and none took as long.

if you play them with time limits like a real game and dont judge the one time u beat them after 29 tries then they arent super far off. if u can beat one in under 10 minutes and win more than 50 percent of the time ur probably pretty close. my may be a little over rated but not like alot of people claim. also some are easier at the same rating. the people claiming to have beaten bots double their elo are taking tons of time and tons of tries to accomplish that. its good practice but playing bots a little higher than ur rating untill u roll them almost every time is probably a better route

i am 800 rated and I just beat a 1600 bot??

Avatar of The_Aspiring_GM
I’m literally rated like 500 to 600 and I beat Li (the 2000 rated bot). It’s not that the bot played poorly, but I think it’s more that a human rated 2000 would just be better.
