Are unrated games the same as playing rated games?

I recently had to take a break from chess because the elo system just made me hate this game.If I play unrated games will that still improbve my skill?

Of course, if you play hard. How did chess players improve when there was no online game ? They played in the clubs, and there the rating didn't exist (and doesn't exist). The only problem is that few, here, seem to enjoy unrated games.

You are right into your anger!! We all have the same trouble instead of finding quiet waters we often fall into the murky waters of strange players!! I think that chess.com doesnt have that kind of staff to really judge and divide into rooms and classes one elo player from another
