There is no attempt by the matching system to maintain a 50/50 win loss ratio (as in some other games I know of online).
Also, you're able to restrict your game seeks to certain rating ranges. Some players have many times more wins (or losses depending on their preference) because of this.
Also, in a match with a 100 point difference, by definition in the Elo system, the stronger player is expected to score about 65%. This is certainly not a clear crush. 400 points, which represents an expected score of over 90%, is a crush :)
So I started getting streaks in my rating which is 643 for blitz. But the thing is you would think the live chess matcher will just let me go till I hit my rating ceiling which is about 700 at which point my ass gets kicked. But now once I start winning I have to be matched with some one who is 763 (while I am 643) who clearly will crush me. Then I go on losing streaks (still matching me with high rated people) running my win to loss ratio this system does alow you to advance past your rating unless your a serious skill set above every one else.
