Does anyone have any tips for the best openings for beginners
For beginners?
As White, start the game by moving out a center Pawn.
As Black, answer King's Pawn openings with the King's Pawn, and answer Queen's Pawn openings with the Queen's Pawn.
As a general rule, you should develop Knights before Bishops, because it's usually clear where the Knight belongs while the Bishop has more options.
Try to keep everything on your side defended, and be ready to exploit a mistake by the opponent.
Try to move most of your pieces off the back rank before you start any solo adventures with one or two pieces.
