If you don't have the guts to attack your opponent, at least have the decency to spell correctly.

You have to change and adapt your strategy in response to what your opponent does. So if they're leaving the center up for grabs, I would go ahead and try to develop my pieces to optimal squares. Optimal squares such as those in the "dream position"

''...and let my oppenent have the center.."

Just don't do that.

Avatar of tomy_gun

the strugle for the center is a principle not a trick for a quick win. you have a photo of a perfect center, but if the oponent doesnt move, if he moves those are soldiers, generals, and tanks of the serpent queen and you must have the skills to win ''beyond the center'' or the game.

The following two books (both short, with concise exercises) will rapidly add about 300 points to your playing strength.

http://www.amazon.com/Chess-Tactics-Batsford-Paul-Littlewood-ebook/dp/B00SVEJH88/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1431786285&sr=1-1&keywords=chess+tactics+littlewood

http://www.amazon.com/Essential-Chess-Endings-Explained-Move/dp/0875681727/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1431786379&sr=1-1&keywords=essential+chess+endings

Also consider adding a 5 second bonus to your time controls.  If you can play Game in 15/5, or perhaps Game in 10/5, you will get a lot more practice.  Learn to reach the end of the game "on the board," instead of "on the clock."

As for openings, I suggest "Reversed Systems with White," such as Larsen's Attack (essentially a Queen's Indian Reversed).  That should work fine against defensive play by Black, as per your game above.

Last point -- don't let these crazy threads upset you, and then show it.

Jokes (at your expense) go with the territory here.  Find a way to roll with it.

lol...im sorry. the hypermodern school has really confused people. the center is always important the hypermodern openings dont ignore it they just wait a bit longer. but never too long. just develop towards the center thats generally the right thing whatever your opponent does...whether or not they ignore the center.
