Hello Snakesbelly 2. I agree that Bullitt chess is probably the pinnacle of chess accomplishment because of the time restraints. Any fool can probably get to about a 2200 rating when given two and a half hours to think about forty moves.
But to do the same when only given sixty seconds to make all your moves is superhumanly awesome and outstanding!

IDK on the whole bullet issue since i just play for the hell of it. To me this is what Boby Fischer might have looked like on some of the meth on "Breaking Bad." That is the only way can sum it up.

The difficulty in chess comes from your opponent, not from the game itself. The game simply provides an arena where both players are initially on equal ground. If your opponent is very strong, he will be hard to beat, regardless of whether you play 1 min or full length games.
That is true of ANY fair game - arm wrestling, poker, baseball, checkers. They are all equally difficult because you are matching your ability against that of your opponent, and if your opponent is world-class then you have to be world-class to beat him.
The standard of play in 1 min however is much lower than the standard of play in full length chess. I for one prefer good moves to fast moves.
You can make moves without thinking in Bullet chess and maybe You win a game on time, but you cannot win a game OTB without any thinking.

I don't understand the arguments supporting the OP's opinion here. If bullet takes more skill, why do you have a higher bullet rating? Or to put it the other way, if blitz is so easy, why do you suck at it (comparitively)?
