A lot of people would like to be GMs but there are far more masters than GMs for good reason.
How do you make the jump to the next level? I don't know.
I have to warn you, people don't take too kindly about others trying to become GM around here. I tried becoming GM once and they shot me down. Just check out the civil discussion I tried to have before they all laughed at me. Embarrassing, ruined my whole week.

Thanks
I've been lacking a bit of confidence as to how far i can make it as a chess player. I have been playing since the age of 14 and am now 17. In my first few years i hit the plateau hard but in the last year i've seen a fide rating increase from 1775 to 1940, won the national u18 and am now playing in the nationals championships (albeit a weaker one since the country's top 3 active players dropped out.)
I haven't gotten to represent the country due to financial and event issues, and lack of games mean's my current fide ratings may not be an accurate representation of my strength, but here is a game i played in a nationals match on sunday .
So the ratings jump of nearly 200 in the last year is something i want to build momentum on and maybe become the next black grandmaster in the future. But do i still have a chance to make it, i'm pretty well booked in the opening and my old chess.com account had a tactics rating of 2800+ (i can show you more of my games if you don't believe me). I spent last year training my positional thinking (read a great jeremy silman book that helped) although i took a few months of training due to resource issues . What area's do you think i should focus on to make the jump to 2200 level instead of falling on another plateau where even my coach (one grade above me while he was in Highschool, but 2-3 years older) seems to be having trouble escaping from.
