Can I reach 1500 online rapid by the end of the year?

"Can I reach 1500 online rapid by the end of the year?" ++ Yes, easily. Blunder check before you move. That little mental discipline alone is enough to reach 1500.
"advanced endgames" ++ Good.
"theory for the common openings" ++ Not useful.
"I play puzzles" ++ Good, but overrated.
"games" ++ That is key. Play 15|10 time control. Use all your time. Analyse your lost games.
"watch online lessons" ++ Not very useful.
Yep I did it it is 100% doable you just have to be 1.gifted (even a tiny bit you don't need a lot just enough to understand complex positons)at chess 2.work really hard

Lets start off with your Openings!
What opening do you play?
For White:
For Black against 1.e4:
For Black against 1.d4:

I did it in 5, broke through my barrier and slammed into the next one

You need to play against strong players and analyze those games. I can play one Rapid game per day but you have to analyze yourself or use Game Review

Thank you for all the tips. I will play some 15|10 rapid.
Also, I play e4 as white and let it transpose into whatever. For black, vs e4, I play the Caro-Kahn (and know it well) and vs d4, I play the Slav Defense or Zukertort variation.

I worked my way up from 1200 and just hit 2100 today. Took me over a decade, haha.
1. Study your openings and create a repertoire. It takes time but it makes the game more fun. Learn the main lines but try to understand WHY players choose those main lines.
2. Always do after game analysis to find the FIRST move where it went wrong.
3. Tactics-- that is the hard part of the game that cant be taught. But if you have a good opening, it will often force your opponent into making errors and then you will find the tactical patterns more easily.
4. Decide if you want to be an aggressive player or a more defensive one. In rapid, especially the 10-0, you can do well with aggressive chess.

that is pretty funny. the guy creates a forum in hopes of getting all these warm and fuzzy comments and then complains when he gets negative feedback.
I think it's 100% possible, not even by the end of the year probably like 2-3 months, I mean I ain't 1500 but chess improvement seems to favour those who are serious about it and if you are then you can go far.

Hello, everyone. I have been playing chess for about 4 years now. I have a good amount of knowledge of the game, including advanced endgames and most theory for the common openings. I made this account last year top after deleting my old one because I wanted to really delve into chess. I have 2500 puzzle rating and a highest rapid of 1230. I want to know if you think I can accomplish 1500 rapid by Dec31, 2024. What tips can you offer?
I play puzzles, games, watch online lessons and receive tips from Issac Snow, who is in the top three strongest players in my state.
Let me know what you think? (Keep in mind that I’m young and learn easier. No offense to the older players trying to learn.)
It's actually quite common for people playing around 2-4 years to plateu around 1200-1300 and then jump up to 1500-1600 within a year.
It happened to me, and also to another similar post who was 1200 when he wrote it he's now 1600 it's been a year.
Some people progress even faster actually but if they are young and serious-ish...
