Can strong or titled players remember colour of each square? Is this possible?

Part of chess strength is the ability to "visualize."  1800 OTB players and up have this ability. They can easily name the color of the squares and tell you where their pieces are on the board.

I'm not a titled player and it will take some work for me to become one. I know the colors of all the squares, and probably so do most other players of my rating range. It's not something you memorize, it's something you know by heart. Blindfold chess could help (?)

Dpnorman is a uscf expert.  I would listen to him.

is this really a question ? not trying to be rude, I suck at chess, but this isnt difficult.

A,C,E,G odd numbers black

B,D,F,H even numbers black.

obviously vice versa for white squares.  so if I said a4, has to be white.

Nice answer with clear explanation. 👍

Can you elaborate more on this , how exactly do you do it.

Do you use a formula with odds and even numbers like I replied to an answer above or you just see it in a milli second instantly, which square colour?

You need to read his post above.

Also read mine where I explain it is a component of chess strength.

I'm not a titled player, or a blindfold expert, but if you give me the square name, I can tell you the color in 1 second with 99% accuracy. It's not at all hard to learn this.
