The two best endgame players ever, playing an equal endgame... I'm gonna have to go with a draw
Carlsen vs Capablanca - endgame battle. Who would win??

The two best endgame players ever, playing an equal endgame... I'm gonna have to go with a draw
Boring, but highly reasonable! If you had to pick a favourite?

Somehow eliminate all Magnus’s knowledge gained from games since 1930 till 2023….And then compare..

It's "Jose" Capablanca, and not "Juan."
Oh god whoops I knew that, obviously!! Moment of mental abstraction. Happens to us all 😂😭

Capa played the whole game with his eye on a favorable Endgame. I'd go for Capa in all phases of the game. Carlsen chose a good time to get out of the game, which to a great extent he has. The old timers seem to have lasted longer.

Fischer called Capa the most gifted natural player, but also said that Capa wasn't quite as great in the endgame as people made him out to be.
Who would win between Carlsen and Capa in the endgame, probably Carlsen. However, give Capa access to today's mass of information then Capa might win out in the endgame or tie Carlsen.
As far as an entire game goes, Carlsen is the best ever. I prefer Capa's style though.

Because both were pretty good to say the least.

We were discussing Capa vs Carlsen, were we not? and who might be best at endgames?
Let me repeat about Capa playing with the endgame in mond. In his writings, and books about him, Capa would have simplifications in mind during the middle game to set up an advantageous set up at the start of the endgame and play accordingly.
I suspect Carlsen did the same thing, imitating Capablanca in this.

We all know that, in the debate of who the greatest endgame converter in the history of chess is, there are only two contenders. Magnus Carlsen and Juan Capablanca.
Face them off in an equal endgame…. Who do you think takes it?
