Obama confirms it.

Talking to military personnel over here after their tours, apparently there was an extensive network to keep him hidden, and to move him whenever we got close.  This raid had been planned since August.

Of course, he would have already planned for this, and I actually don't even think it's a good thing!

Al-Qaeda hadn't been in the news for a LONG time--this is the most press they've had for ages! Thanks for giving these insane people even more reason to wage their madness and a brand new 'MARTYR' to revere--thanks a LOT!

Bin Laden was the head of the snake. This is a real blow to Al Queda. He had to go regardless of future strikes. Remember, we're hitting them everyday with drone strikes. They're already pissed at us.

Osama no longer hide-and-seek world champion.

Gambit is way off. There is no way this is bad news. This is very good news. Very good indeed.

It seems that the Al Qaeda group made a queen sacrifice in an attempt to checkmate Obama.

Him and Hitler just took over hell  Smile  But there is always going to be someone else to take the reigns and it'll never be over. I hate to rain on the parade but I think the war has only truly just begun. They just got their biggest martyr. We might've gotten a victory, but they got the bigger one

Obama confirms Osama? Hmmmm.  Seems like there should be a joke in there somewhere...

So apparently 2 helicopters with 30 Navy Seals flew below radar (the night of no moon...why this date was chosen)...with no knowledge by the Pakistani Gov't...yes, the Pakistani Gov't. was not informed (so I am certain there will be some political problems here). Impact genades were used to take out doors...and the entire gunfight lasted 5 minutes...Bin Laden was found in one of the rooms, and refused to surrender...he was shot in the eye, and his body was taken. Mechanical problems with one of the birds, forced a third chopper to be sent in, and the faulty chopper was blown up.

CIA intellegence found the Mansion last August, because of information tortured out of two couriers of Bin Laden while in Guantanomo Bay in Cuba. Survellence found that the compound had no phone nor internet connections...and was suspected a high valued target. One option was to take out the compound with bombs, but the President went for the more risky move of sending in "special ops"...to save any intelligence on the compound. Bin Laden apparently felt save since there were only about 8 persons found in the compound...5 were killed.

Yes, I think "the free world" should celebrate the killing of Bin Laden...an eye for an eye...revenge...whatever term you prefer...

...but there are many questions to be answered-

1. Was Bin Laden living in a Mansion, just 2 hours away from Pakistani Training facilities, and major city with the full knowledge of the Pakistani Government?

2. Going into a soveign nation without permission, or even informing the Pakistani Gov't. is clearly in violation of a number of international laws. To what extent will this hurt USA/Pakistani relations? Understand very well that the USA relies on Pakistan as the only access to Afganistan to supply it's troops there currently...

3. To what extent does killing Bin Laden makes him a martyr...and escalates or diminishes terror attacks on western soil?
