If anyone is looking to play a bit of social chess in a pub or bar in Reading UK, events are now held twice a week: Tuesdays at Milk Bar and Wednesdays at The Lyndhurst pub. We have 10 to 15 boards going on these chess nights and a variety of levels from beginners to 2000+ ratings. A coloured wrist band system is used to roughly match people up by level. This is social chess not club chess, so banter is encouraged. Goal is fun not ego and the chance to make some new friends!
