Chess Membership upgrade costs explanation

could some please explain what the Monthly Membership costs would be for me to upgrade from a Monthly Gold to a Monthly Diamond Account. I'm finding the table of fees a bit confusing.

I don't think that the plan table is taking into account my current Monthly Gold account fees ?

Ah ok...I have just found a hidden membership fee table with an additional Platinum membership . That looks like the option I need to have unlimited Reviews added to my current Gold Account.

Still would like some confirmation of exactly what additional fee would be added to my current Gold Monthly Payments

Your screenshot is listing the Yearly plans. If you currently are paying monthly, you'll need to click that option at the top to see what the pricing is. Then you just compare the gold to platinum cost difference.

Thank you Martin I didn't notice the tiny Monthly Yearly option .

Also its necessary to select the easily missed tiny 'all plans' option at the bottom in order to see the Platinum option plan. Why on earth hide the Platinum plan by default .

I'm not seeing any image in that last post. On my device I'm seeing everything clearly. 🤔

So after going all round this site page after page I have finally discovered how a current member can upgrade their account. What a frustrating journey for what should be such a simple process...

Apparently Chess.com cancel your existing account first !....? so in fact you do not upgrade your account as claimed at all ! Your existing account is cancelled and then you start a fresh account from scratch by paying the subscription for a year whether that is on a Monthly basis or paying for a year in advance.

After further searching I found out that any balance left after cancelling your existing account is apparently credited to your new account .

.I assume that after your current account is cancelled , all your ratings and game History and analysis is not lost with the old account ? I cannot find anything in the upgrade guide that actually confirms this.

I have to say that I do not understand the logic of this upgrade process which seems to me to be a lot of unecessary work and confusion. I cannot see why all this information could not be included on the initial upgrade page instead of having to scroll through page after page to find out. ?

It shows all four on the same page for me, and all elements are visible enough that I don't miss anything.

If you're on the iOS app, Apple has some weird method like that where they have to cancel the existing subscription and give a new one. That is an Apple store thing

Upgrades on the website start a new subscription term but give you a pro-rated credit of the unused portion of your membership on an upgrade.

Not 100% sure how Google handles it.
