My money would have been on the seal!
Chess Photographs (≈1950-1970)

Give me your lunch money ...(ok this may be a cooked photo, or else most of the guys in the stands are massive)

Like I said may be a fake (they seem too large in relation to Karpov, but then again he was pretty small as a young man) but if it is real I believe they were called young pioneers, like a soviet boys club, but with a political bent.

In playing style I must admit I favour the guys on my avatar, though. Well, what can one do about that?

Not old enough, but it is nice to see this barbarian (Tony Miles?) giving lessons to three world champions.

the smoking ban was the beginning of the end of chess. the engines put the boot in completely. heck, now you can’t even bring your pint of Guinness to the board
Who said that?

That explains why Fidel could use some help in #58...

"During this tournament [the XVII World Chess Olympics--MG], sheer chance made Fischer and Cuban President Fidel Castro play against each other in an unusual chess game. Mexican Master Filiberto Terrazas wrote in an article published in Jaque Mate magazine(Havana, 1966) that it all started when he [Terrazas] and Fidel Castro sat down to play a match. Some minutes after the game began the Cuban leader received an important backup from Soviet chess player Tigran Petrosian. Then Terrazas asked Fischer, who was nearby, for help. / That’s how a game between the four began: Fidel Castro-Tigran Petrosian on one side (whites) and Filiberto Terrazas-Bobby Fischer on the other. In the end, whites won. / Testimonies of those times point out that Fischer talked for a while with the Cuban President and, before saying goodbye, gave him an autographed book."
