So apparently Carlsen gets max 1 or 2 more days for the deadline, according to an interview with FIDES second in command through chess.com.
What is strange is that FIDE is so strict at some deadlines, but others are not really that important. I'm talking about the deadline for the olympiad, where the russian womens team (along with some other teams) didn't send in the paperwork to the organizers before months after the deadline. Somehow this deadline wasn't so important for FIDE strangely enough.
The last date for signing for the WC is closing in (2 days). I really wonder if Carlsens team is going to sign, so far they have not wanted to due to uncertain cirmumstances regarding the WC. I'm a bit afraid that he won't sign at all, which will be a shame. A WC without Carlsen would not really be a WC at all. As far as rumor goes, Anand hasn't signed either, but everything looks like he will, so I suppose it will be Karjakin vs Anand in the case of Carlsen not signing. I also wonder what would be the chess community response if FIDE decides to decline any suggestion of delaying the WC or giving more information about the circumstances prio to the signing date.
