The Chess Pirate bay? Lol, time to look for a work if you want the latest chess books.

Probably, I dont know how they managed to survive so long, or who knows, maybe they are updating servers or something like that.

Not the first time they've been down for an extended time.  They don't appear to have any worthwhile tech talent running that place either.

Chess.india was a piracy chess site, and if they did they job correctly I would think they had great books.

So yes, maybe in this special case good quality things came out of that indian server.

chessindia.net actually had a LOT of chess material available! 

This is a tragedy! I didn't even know it existed before reading this thread, but it's still a tragedy! What are those poor guys with an iPhone7 that cannot afford to pay for a book going to do now?

I never looked at depth in the page as I was looking for a chessbase copy.

I found it but it was too laggy in the startup and my liberal mind kept bugging me with the fact that I was stealing from a multibillionare company that sells extremely expensive material.

So I downloaded Scid vs PC, and I have been happy since that day.

Now I start to wonder what kind of books did they have, Negi's 1.e4 vs the Sicilian? In PDF version?! Kasparov's my great predecesors? How to become a GM in a day?!!!!!!

i can understand someone downloading 1 maybe 2 books and actually reading them but the people who download 100's of chess books just have an addiction to downloading

I'm not sure what is going on with chessindia.net. Nothing seems to be posted on their twitter feed about it being down. They have very high quality books there. All the new books that come out and majority of older books. What I found most interesting was the rare books people have scanned.
