What is more important about chess than the origin of chess?

Google says, "Like orthodox chess, Chinese chess is believed to have been derived from an Indian board game known as chaturanga."

与正统国际象棋一样,中国象棋被认为源自一种名为“chaturanga”的印度棋盘游戏

The future of chess.

He who controls the present, controls the past.

He who controls the past, controls the future.

George Orwell, 1984 (The novel, not when he said it).

It's kinda like the movie The Terminator.

The future is fought in the past, which is our present.

"Chinese Chess came from India"

"Western chess, which originated from India, is currently being manufactured in China"

The past is set in stone, unless we learn to time travel. The past and present are two different things. Since you were talking about the origins of chess, that is not the present. What we can do in the present can affect our future. Since the future has yet to be determined, it is more important than the past. Don’t get me wrong though. History has great value too, as we can learn from our mistakes and improve what was done right.

The Chinese already invented a superior form of chess, superior to the Chess from India. Go. It's Japanese name.

圍棋 weiqi, The 囗 Surrounding Game.

It is a geo-political game. Off the bat, it looks like the trench warfare of World War 1, thousands of years after it was invented.

Its genius, we are only beginning to scratch the surface.

That is why Chinese Chess played on the intersections, following the model of Go.

I did the reverse in my childhood. I played Gomoko inside the squares, following the model of tic-tac-toe.

That is funny, because it is true, in plastic chess sets.

Old fashioned wooden chess are still made in India.
