There must be some cheating with three minute games: when white moves a piece there was a long pause before Black moves. Then it is quite strong but his clock has also jumped down sometimes by a minute. Who is responsible for this trick? Moving absolutely immediately, deciding on your move even before it is your turn( causing the red square to aluminate) you will still lose on time. It is very frustrating. Someone in the administration fix this!!!

Cheating?  What is this cheating you speak of??

Tony, relax. This behavior is normal. System accounts for geographical lag. Ping time is substracted from the clock, both yours and your opp.

Relax Tom, doesn't payout if you get a headache because of this. Do you mean moving more than one move at the same time and you are still way behind? The server needs to synchronize both player, depending on their location, speed, latency time it can be difficult to make it as fair as possible. So it is not necessarily kind of cheating rather the problem of distributed systems working together.

How would one cheat a clock? It's fully controlled by chess.com, I'd assume.

yeah it is on the setting to where you are and where he or she is

That's what makes these complaints so ridiculous. There is absolutely no way that anyone would go in and somehow internally change the way chess.com handles game time just for one 3-minute game.
