I cannot help you. But it is a neat set and they look old. Were there more sets on sale just like this one?
Curious chess pieces.
Nope, just this one in an old old antique/second hand shop. the silver material seems to be pewter I'm guessing, and the gold is possibly pewter dipped in something as in some places the gold has pitted and worn away (definitely not gold i'm guessing) I've also not managed to find any sets at all similar on the net after hours of trolling through....

It seems as though you acquired a rare set. Whether it is rare or not, it would be fun to play chess with. I enjoy using different sets, however, I like for the knight to be a knight or at least so different from the other chessmen that it leaves no doubt it is the knight.
That's what I am trying to work out, if it actually is a rare set or just some cheap junk haha...either way I love the style and do know for a fact that it seems to be pretty unique. Yeah it is a nice solid set, weighs about 6kg. Feel free to ask around in any other forums you may be a part of. would be much appreciated.
I have a handcraved set from Columbia. It was a gift and I doubt I could get a dollar for it, but I like it. As far as I am concerned price matters not. I like it and that is all that matters. I would post a photo of it, but I cannot post photos successfully.
