I have nothing against originality, but do understand that many "original" ideas are not only not that original...
I once came up with a "novelty", over the board, that I couldn't find in any of the available opening books... a piece sacrifice on move 8 in the QGD Chigorin Defense.
I was a bit disappointed to discover about a month later that Ivanchuk had already played my "new" move in a Simul, several years before.
... at least it was a sound sacrifice...
I have nothing against originality, but do understand that many "original" ideas are not only not that original, they are just plain poor concepts. True, higher ranked Chess players should try to be more tactful and diplomatic in their criticisms but chill out, take a deep breath and listen to what they have to say and don't take their refutations of your ideas as personal attacks. I was once a little like the OP but was told by a kind USCF National Master to "shut up, sit down and grow up!".
