Do Drinks help in Chess?

Alcohol CAN dampen pain, it CAN reduce nervousness and CAN increase courage/confidence. It also very obviously impairs motor function and increases likelihood of errors.
It must be evaluated on an entirely case by case basis because there are many variables. One drink might help your performance in blitz when you have just gotten off of work and you are still wound-up from the day. This same one drink might hurt you in a saturday OTB tournament game in which you were already relaxed and well-minded.

Dudes! I have noticed that whenever I drink a bit before playing , in that game , I get to play a brilliancy . Tal and Alekhine were also famous for both their addiction to drinks , and addiction to combinations . SO DO DRINKS HELP IN CHESS?
