why is chess rage
I wrote my response to this thread and then realized it was becoming a bit long, so I posted it as a blog post instead:

Yes of course. In fact, I raged recently when I tilted back into the 1300s while I have just hardly earned my near-1450 rating because my vacation time ran out and I didn't notice.
guys i saw chessbrah raging throwing stuff breaking , abusing and all do you guys ever rage or rage on your mouse for slipping and losing????
yes i got a new computer thanks to that
A tip.. Play bullet or hyper bullet when you rage.you will enjoy crushing weaklings
Then imagine timing out against a player rated 200 lower than you. Then you'll rage even more lol
Don’t do physical self harm
juat starve yourself like I do

No way you timeout with rage speed.
When you're closing in on seventy years old, you need a good run-up to get angry.
So no... I don't rage. I sulk, instead.

I like your idea of starving oneself, but rage is an emotion so short in time that by the time we feel hungry there's no rage anymore and we eat

Don't encourage starving yourself! Seriously. Nutrition is important and not eating at all is just asking for mental struggle that you don't need. Why handicap yourself and especially after losing, or already on tilt?
If anything, get something to eat when losing. Perhaps the lack of food is why you aren't playing as well as normally.
