Do you think chess and music are related?

Has anybody mentionned these?
1. Chess and Music are "Activites" engaged in (mostly) by Humans --- Humans who Live On This Planet!
2. Chess and Music both start at the beginning and end at the end.
3. Chess and Music cause "Feelings!"
4. Certain chess games OR pieces of music are intrinsically"good," while others are "painful" and "disgusting" and "just plain awful."
5. People who speak Entirely Different Languages can Agree or Disagree ***Without Exchanging Any Words!**** about the "goodness" or the "awful, painful, utter Disgustingness" of any given "song" or "chess game."
6. Thus Chess and Music have the power to Unite all the peoples of the world in shared joy--- or loathing --- of something!... oh, yeah, and also the power to start a bunch of stupid fights about stuff that's not even remotely worth fighting about in the first place .... so ....
7. Well, I think I've made my points here.

chess i stratergy and war, music is singing and not that related to chess anyway that is what i think

No, not at all, really. Chess can be a form of art, to some, if that is what you mean. They both encourage creativity. But aside from that, I do not believe so. I listen to baroque era music while I play, but that is purely for enjoyment.

Interesting thought! I wasn't quite sure of what you meant by a couple of your points, but as a musician/composer/instructor, I like the idea of comparing music to anything else just to see where it might lead. Bobby Fischer listened to Rock Music when he studied chess.

No. Music and chess are not related. Music is an art. Chess is not. The only way I can relate them is that both require some form of analysis and concentration.

Pretty picture!! Yes, everything in the world has some sort of relationship. I made a screen recording once of a chess game I set up as computer vs. computer, then I added dramatic music to it. Quite funny. The computer mated itself with a queen and knight. lol

"Self-mating." I don't know. It just sounds wrong, somehow. ...
!

i play chess with my ipod and headset to keep going on to answer numerous games,i find it relaxing and for stress to take place even if the position is complicated but 4 hours continous playing is enough. for live games i feel comfortable more in blitz games along with music on my headset, just like rocking

Hey, netzach, I just rewatched your video above --- It is truly Amazing! Freud would have loved it --- the way the formal structure drops out, first slowly, then faster and faster as the Id takes over! Wonderfully funny -- and it wouldn't work without the music. Thanks, again!

My study of chess was accompanied by a strong attraction to music, and it was probably thanks to this that I became accustomed to thinking of chess as an art, for all the science and sport involved in it. - Vassily Smyslov

--- There was a thread on the go here about Chess and Mathematics being related, and there have been a few child prodigies in Math over the years, perhaps these things are related with and thru Music ( then again perhaps not ).

This topic has been brought up before.
