Duolingo says that chess is not a sport

I was learning spanish, and i was speaking with Lily. Here, after the lesson, it showed the learning tips. Look at the screenshot. The grammar isn't correct, actually i wanted to say: "No entiendo. El ajedrez es un deporte sin lenguas", which means "I don't understand. Chess is a sport without languages". It suggested that i should use the word "juego" (which means game) instead of "deporte" (which means sport).
Now this is pretty weird, because duolingo and chess.com is working together. And chess is a sport.
