I was wondering about the requirements for a chess title and it said you need a rating of 2200 for CM. When getting this rating is it talking about rapid, bullet, or blitz?

Classical chess, look it up. You won’t be getting titles from a chess.com chess rating

Isn't that that only for GM and IM?

All titles, that includes CM, are for players that have a FIDE elo rating and play real life tournaments wink.png

So what ur saying is that it doesn’t matter if it get a rating of, for example, 2200 in blitz, rapid, or bullet? But I do have to play irl tournaments to get the title?

Considering that you are probably from the United States (going off of the flag right next to your username), an easier goal would be to achieve a USCF classical rating of at least 2000 and achieve 5 tournament performances impressive for a 2000-rated player.   This is how you achieve the USCF norms-based Candidate Master title.

How would you recommend to practice chess, learn openings, and get better at chess?
