I would recommend Averbakh's Chess Endings: Essential Knowledge, but with the caveat that it might it might be too easy and I've only seen it in descriptive. Seriously, though, at your level I imagine Dvoretsky's is the way to go.
Endgame Book recomendations

Okay guys I was wondering if any of you lot can help me out.
Basically I'm looking for book recomendations that meet the following criteria:
a) An instructional (i.e not a game collection or database) book specifically on Endgames
b) In algebriac notation
c) suitable for my strength (which is arround 2000-2200corr here: and about 170Ecf {approx: 170=2000 FIDE} OTB) ***
d) In english (in case that was not obvoius :) )
I looked at Silmans 'complete course'...but I worry that half my monney will go down the drain since most of it will be too easy (thus I wont read most of it)
I also looked at Dorvetsky's endgame manual, but the price scared me off (£20 for a chess book? ...get real).
So...Anyone know of some really great *cheap* endgame book? ... also, if you happen to own it, i'd appeciate a brief explanation as to why I should get that book over some other one.
thanx in advance guys!
*** But since I suck at endgames lets round the figure downward: (1800 fide)
