Yeah... I sorta caught on to the sarcasm a little late... after I posted that message.
Erik owes us yet another apology...

Like over half the members that read the post. This post really seemed
to read so seriously it was taken as an attack on Erik. The rediculas
is not obvious until you step back for a moment. I enjoyed the OP, and
the reactions, regardless of interpretation.

I'm sorry NotKasparov... I'm still just a little peeved about cheater_1's *somewhat dramatic* exit. When he posted, he meant what he posted. I was just used to ridiculous arguments, and used to watching people get so upset. I've been here for a while, and I've been scanning the forums for a while, but I've just recently grown the courage to actually involve myself in the topics.
This post is pretty gray, and someone would need a good sense of humor to see the irony (see jasonpitts's post, and pretty much every post above mine, including mine). I'm sorry for the confusion, but there are probably still people here who will post nasty stuff when they read this. Hopefully not, but probably.
If you like, I can remove my previous post.
same here. i am used to people meaning what they say.

i thought this was immediately funny :) still, it was subtle ;)
anyway, thanks to those who stick up for me even if the attacker was tongue-in-cheek :D

I thought the original post was funny. However, I thought the fact that people didn't realize it was a joke was even more funny!

I try to log onto Chess.com and instead of letting me get to the site, it wants me to play this stinkin' "little chess partner!" It says Erik and his fellow Party members are making improvements to the site! In my opinion, this whole thing is ridiculous. If I want to log onto Chess.com, well ****, I should be allowed to! Dictators like Erik should not be allowed to stop me so that they can make "improvements" to the site. The only "improvements" that I've seen have been useless ones like Live Chess, Games Explorer, and Computer Analysis. My guess is that Erik and his fellow thugs just close down the site so they can engage in some kind of covert criminal activity, although I'm not sure about the details. But I've done nothing wrong! This is unwarranted! By the power vested in me, I will organize a boycott of all the members who give Erik no money, unless he tells us all the true reason why he regularly shuts down this site for up to like ten minutes. Non-paying members of Chess.com, unite!
Funny post, indeed! Read the highlighted part...
ADK

and by the way, Erik brings down the site because he is trying to post "FIRST!!!1" on the next daily puzzle. Even with no other users on the site, he STILL only manages to hit the third page....
Very sad.

come on guys!!! For anyone with half a brain it was obvious that NotKasporov was joking - that he post was a parody. When he said, "the only improvements I have seen have been live chess, games explorer and computer analysis" didn't that give it away that it was a parody? Since these are obviously great improvements.

Dictators like Erik should not be allowed to stop me so that they can make "improvements" to the site.
Why do you refer it to as "the site" but not "Erik's site".Get it through your head buddy its his site and he can do whatever he wants.Oh yeah by the way you insult him and yet you use his website.Wouldn't that be in a way hypocritical.

Haha, I love the satire in this post. You represent how childish and immature cheater_1 acted. Anyone who's thinking he's serious needs to have a few more drinks and loosen up. I've got your back NotKasparov ;)
Thanks for the laugh, man.

and still they fall into the net. This is nearly as good as that thread about how Little Chess partner was rude because it wouldn't resign or reply to messages.

This post is hilarious. It's amazing how many chess players have no sense of humor. I have a bright idea! Let's have a remedial 101 posting class. You first read the post to its entirety. Then, you look for its significance. Third, you read the latest page of comments to make sure your post will be relevant to the immediate conversation at hand. Next, you type your post and review it for spelling and fragment errors. Finally, you hit submit your comment. Hope I was a great help!

Freddie, just reread the actual post, and the other posts made. THE ORIGINAL POST WAS A JOKE.
Sheesh...

Let's look at what Freddie did not do. He likely followed step one and read the entire post. He failed to draw the correct meaning and signficance, so he failed step two. Before posting, he likely did not look at the comments about it. So he did not follow step three. He is a little iffy on step 4. And he obviously submitted his comment.
