Again, that you could actually take personally how I responded to a troll is just ...nuts. He flamed me and I flamed him. How you could actually sit there and discuss it as though I deeply wounded a little puppy is just ...highly indicative of underlying issues.

No...I'm not a teenager. I'm an adult. *Most* of us don't actually carry our sensitivities on our sleeves when surfing and posting on sites like Chess.com. When you get a few years older I can assure you that you won't consider a website like this an actual real life extension of socialization. It's not.

However, as you can see, we do study chess and we're quite successful at it. Looks like our methods are better than yours? Or maybe we're just more inteligent. Doesn't matter at all though. So yeah, we do study chess, we play games on the best website you can find to play and learn. And you? You said your TT or CM is outdated, you don't play game. So what the heck are you doing then here?

Ok...I'm trying to be nice here and actually respond to this because YOU clearly just "don't get it": Chess.com is, by no means, the best chess website out there. The live chess is arguably the worst there is. I play chess OTB, on ICC (in a league. The team 45/45 league which is the best league online) and most recently now on Lichess, ChessTempo's new live chess, and now FIDE Online Arena. I have a Diamond here because it's cheap, I'm trying it out, and I like ChessMentor.

I've been playing Chess since last fall. That might have a little something to do with why people who have been playing for literally years upon years are rated higher than me.

That all of this would need to be explained to you and that you couldn't simply just know that there could be any number of reasons why someone doesn't play chess on one venue out of all the possibilities out there is ...just indicative of how you want to argue and kick sand. As said, find something to actually do with your weekend other than this because THIS is a ridiculous waste of your time.

Re: ICC Team 45/45 league = best league online

Having played in both ICC and FICS team 45 45 league, I prefer the one on FICS because of the Watchbot program that records the games with comments from observers and stores them online.  It has promoted a fantastic community atmosphere around the games, and the league is a much bigger "event" because of this.  Each and every game is a great learning experience because of the comments from many strong players that are automatically stored on a web page for each game.

Chess.com IS the best website if you wanna learn chess thoroughly. 

However, if you wanna play long games, go to ICC then. Chesstempo is an excrement for everything but tactics (no idea about databases, I use some others). Lichess? For fast, lightning games you anyway don't play...

For reference, when I started playing chess a few years ago, I only played 2 people OTB and used chess.com for everything else. In 6 months I was 1700...

I don't know if this is you actually having a discussion but ...obviously everything comes down to a matter of preference. All I'll say is that ChessTempo's live chess is brand new and the deepest of any online experience. They have an innovative "short correspondence" game type, also where you can put in 12 or 24 hours on the clock total and every 20 hours you get 10 hours of sleep. It works out better than you could imagine. As for the live chess...like I said, it's really good and graphically the best looking interface out there when it's in fullscreen mode. Just saying, keep an open mind and give everything a shot. There are a lot of new things coming out and to be totally honest: With Lichess, ChessTempo, Chess.com's V3 coming, etc - ICC isn't the monster that it once was. It's really dead on there a lot of the time compared to the other networks.

But yes...ChessTempo is my overall favorite chess website right now and Lichess is beyond brilliant, as well as open sourced and innovative beyond belief. Chess.com has a lot of work to do with V3 if they want to just be considered the best place to play live chess. And for the record, Lichess isn't just "lightning games" any more than Chess.com is. Since there are no pairing pools, you'll see people playing all sorts of different TC's, many of which are traditional long chess.
