finally back at 2400 Blitz 🎆

I want to go back to 2800 again
I want to understand how untitled players chill at blitz elo where many GMs struggle to get?

they’re good at blitz not that good at classical unless they are underrated in which case good for you be the GM you are

Yea. I'm just wondering how do they compensate for the GM level knowledge that they lack. I would assume it would matter alot more as the difference in knowledge between untitled player and a GM is huge.

Damn. That's quite a long time, to honest. Perhaps I shouldn't lose hope just yet.

Yeah, that's something I will probably never understand. Still, though, it's quite likely Meow is either one of:
1) Anonymous titled player
2) Titled-strength untitled player; i.e. their OTB rating is good enough for a title, but they haven't bothered to actually go through the procedure to get the title itself
3) Non-OTB player; i.e. they last played OTB when they were a lot weaker, or (less likely) they haven't played OTB at all.

there are countless untitled players here who have pretty much high ratings and play in OTB quite a lot near the advanced level, one example is user @eragon who was a former 2900 bullet player and close to 2500 blitz at one point with 2490 peak. another is @Naoki who changed his old username to that and is another exceptional bullet/blitz player but untitled though he is around a similar range and near the expert level so really its just grinding ig

Well, to be fair, both of these guys have amazing bullet ratings, but their Blitz ratings are within 400 to 500 points of their OTB ratings, which is of course quite rare, but it does happen. One doesn't need to look further than Hikaru for one example of such a player. Moreover, the discrepancy between classical OTB and online ratings is almost always higher if the player in question is better at shorter time controls (for obvious reasons), which appears to be true for both of these guys, and yet higher if the player in question has more experience online compared to OTB, which also seems to be the case for both of them. Anyway, that's kind of beside the point. The bottom line is that there is a big difference between someone who hasn't played much OTB having a Blitz rating 400-500 points above their OTB rating and an active OTB player whose Blitz rating is at least 600 (!) points higher than their OTB rating. Obviously, your own Blitz rating is almost 1000 points higher than your OTB rating, but I have already explained that that's something I totally can't fathom.
And as to their bullet ratings? Well, while the overlap between the skills required for bullet and those required for OTB chess is still quite large (as both are obviously forms of chess and, at the 2600+ level in bullet, the position on the board is the most important aspect of the game), the discongruity (not the word I am looking for, but apparently the English language doesn't have a word for the subset of the union of two sets in which they don't overlap) is also significant enough to render the variance in OTB ratings given a set bullet rating very high compared to all the other online ratings. I can somewhat understand untitled players having very high bullet ratings, but I can't for the life of me understand untitled players having very high blitz ratings or, even worse, high rapid ratings.
