Duide, just admit you read something wrong, for once.

The Treatise on Money (and many other tomes) has already been written. Sorry.
Move on to Nature and Nuture, or Yogi and Boo-Boo, and Strawberries.
You might have a bit more traction in that discussion.

Dude, if you wanted to move the debate to a different arena, you would have said you were doing so. Or you would if you were a conscionable member of society, seeing as it is incredibly rude to respond to someone's statement by talking about a different topic, unless you state clearly this is what you're doing. It's then insufferable to suggest that, absent these qualifiers, you're merely thinking about it in a deeper way than others.
So, either you're wrong and insufferable about that, or right and insufferable about that. 'grats, dude.
I'm not sure why people keep saying things that clearly have nothing to do with anything.
After 1000+ posts, the sky is the limit. So let er' rip.

Our ancestors somehow managed prior to the invention of money.
I'm talking about the world we live in today. Unless you have a time machine that can transport you back to the BC days, your argument's not really relevant.

I don't have one, any chance you'd sell me yours?

And people wonder why I'm so strongly in favor of immigration.
Sign me up for the next ferry to Canada. Great weed in Vancouver.

Right, but does not the farmer receive money for growing food? Does not the slaughterhouse receive money for providing meat? Do not the truckers who bring the food to the grocery store receive money for their labor? Do you think the farmer grows food without being compensated with money? Do workers in the slaughterhouse work for free? Do the truckers not get paid for bringing food to the grocery store?
Sure, that's one way. However, there are much more traditional ways of putting meat in the pan. Ways that require knowledge and skill, but not money.
Do you make your own rifle, bullets, bow and arrows, frying pan? Or do you need money for those things? Let me guess: You chase the deer on foot, strangle it with your bare hands, use a sharp rock to cut it up and place the meat on another rock so it can be cooked by the sun. Got it!

I don't think we live in the same world. I can't remember the last time I bought meat.
It's lookin' like I'll have to buy hay this year, though. Bummer.

Not at all. I like a good debate.
@TheGrobe: So you don't need or use money for anything? Congratulations. That is very impressive. But you're the exception, not the rule
That's not at all what I said, but it's certainly not the root of my life's fulfillment and I maintain that it's possible to live a fruitful, fulfilling life without it.
